Our Full Moon January 6 @ 6:08 pm occurs in the lunar mansion of Purnavasu “The Star of Renewal,” and the zodiac sign of Gemini. Ruling energies are Jupiter, Mercury, and Aditi, The Divine Mother of the Gods
Our Full Moon takes place in the lunar mansion of Purnavasu, "The Star of Renewal." Punah' means to return, renew, restore, or repeat, and Vasu means brilliant like light rays. The energy of our Full Moon is the return of the light.
A quiver of arrows represents Punarvasu. However, these are not regular arrows. Purnavasu's quiver holds magically Divine arrows that return to the archer after fulfilling their function or request. This conveys the idea of renewal and regeneration, and whatever you put out will always return to you, Infinitely. Punarvasu's quiver represents energy and resources at one's command. It is up to the sender to choose the purpose and timing of their use.

The purpose and timing accumulate on
the Full Moon from what occurred on the New Moon. The New Moon had us living in INXS with all the action happening in the adventurous and expansive sign of Sagittarius. You ventured, shopped, ate, and partied yourself silly into the New Year, and now here comes the light. That could mean New Year resolutions, wake-up calls, insights, epiphanies, or anything at your center that left you in the dark is now illuminated with light. What you do next is crucial. Take aim or retreat back into the darkness.
The sentiment will be to retreat back into the darkness, considering Mars and Mercury are both retrograde. There's nowhere to go and nothing to talk about, which is maddening for those not accustomed to surrendering to the Winter Season of stillness and solitude. But even for those who love the stillness and solitude, there's an unshakable feeling that there's something we need to be doing.
So, needless to say, there's a bit of madness and contradiction in the air.
This is due to Jupiter's expansive energy directed at the Sun in Sagittarius and the Moon in Purnavasu, which Jupiter also rules. The soul still wants to roam around the country, and the mind is jumping from one idea to the next like a cat on tin foil.
Purnavasu lands in part of the sign Gemini. Our retrograde Mercury rules Gemini, which is also combust (too close, very hot) with the Sun. This would be an excellent time to use that retreat function, as conversations may explode or become very agitated toward others or even your internal critic.
Over the next few weeks, I recommend not only retreating but also having your magical arrow on your bow. Like lying alert in a bush Avenger style. Shifts and changes are ahead for January that may change your aim.
Mars turns direct on January 12
Saturn changes signs on January 17
Mercury turns direct on January 18
These shifts are ahead of the Lunar New Year, occurring on January 22. Yes, THE New Year, so if you have already missed your mark for the man-made up New Year, you can contemplate during your retreat, take aim and choose the right target. Remember, those magical Divine arrows always return to sender!!!
