6/14/2022 "There's Only One Choice" Full Moon in Jyestha/Scorpio

Updated: Nov 12, 2022

On June 14, 2022, @ 7:42 am, the Full Moon rises in the Moon Mansion of Jyestha and the zodiac sign of Scorpio. Ruling energies are Mars (traditional ruler of Scorpio), Pluto (modern co-ruler with Mars), Mercury, and Indra, "The King of the Gods."

Jyestha is all about taking care of your responsibilities and using the wisdom you have gained to make correct choices. In ancient history, Jyestha was the last Moon Mansion and considered the "Eldest" or "Senior-most" This title reveals the deep wisdom that's available. However, digging deep, staying centered, and using wisdom will not be without its challenges.

The Moon is debilitated in Scorpio, and to deepen the intensity, it is occurring in the gandanta zone of watery and emotional Scorpio and the fiery intensity of Sagittarius.

Gand means a knot. Anta means the end. Gandanta means the knot at the end. Gandanta zones represent a karmic knot within ourselves, a deep issue that we are trying to reconcile in this lifetime. When planets are placed in these positions, one becomes faced with uncertainty trying to unravel the karmic knot. However, once unraveled, the path reveals itself.

Uncertainty is undoubtedly on the table for this month's Full Moon. Do I go left or right, up or down, here or there, stop or go, yes or no. However, this is not a time for indecisiveness. Whatever comes up is yours to unravel and reveal, requiring you to make a choice. With Saturn now in retrograde (June 4-Oct 23), choosing will weigh heavily upon your heart and reflection on the choices already made.

Jyestha is the eighteenth Moon Mansion and is associated with the eighteenth Tarot card, the Moon. Tarot cards are shrouded in symbolism allowing the beholder to slip between the unconscious and subconscious minds to reveal their secrets.

The Moon card depicts a path that leads off into the distance. On either side of the path stand a wolf and a dog, representing our animalistic nature: one is civilized, and the other wild and feral. A crawfish (crab-scorpion-lobster) is crawling out of the pond from which the path stems. In the distance, two towers flank the central path. Everything in this card echoes the other as if to infer two possibilities. That's the illusion. There's only one choice.

That path between the opposites does not lead you off into the distance. It lights your path below the brimming rays of the Moon AND the Sun. The symbolism is the merging of opposites for balance, harmony, and wholeness. With the Sun in Taurus, and the Moon in Scorpio, temptation and stubbornness to choose one over the other may lead you back into the mud and muck (like the crawfish), only to try again.

Like the Sun and Moon together, Jyestha is symbolized by a talisman, an umbrella, or an earring, representing the circle of death and rebirth. When we walk down the path, we walk the fine line between conscious and unconscious, between the tamed side of the civilized dog and the forces of nature represented by the wolf. A Full Moon in the gandanta zone on the edge of the transitional Summer Solstice implies that change is on the horizon and there’s only one choice, the choice you make.
